FROM THE PRESIDENT

We continue to progress the Environmental Roundtable of Australia and New Zealand concept, and a brief progress report is included in this Bulletin.  I wish to thank John Haydon and his colleagues for their unstinting efforts. 

Also included in this Bulletin package is advice from John, the Roundtable Convenor relating to the first of the Discussion Papers – Penalty Infringement Notices. Some members for whom the Secretariat has correct email details will have received an advance copy of both the Convenor’s message and the Discussion Paper. This is an opportunity for NELA members to contribute to the production of a harmonized suite of environmental law.  The Roundtable panel will seriously consider your comments, suggestions and recommended contacts. 

Additionally you will find in this package details of two conferences, which continue the themes of our harmonisation project. Oh that we all had John’s energy and enthusiasm!!  But then again perhaps you do!
