Can Whaling in Antarctica be Stopped?

The Federal Court has declared Japanese whaling in Australia’s Antarctic waters is unlawful under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) and granted an injunction restraining it.

NELA and Monash University conducted a seminar to explore the legal and policy implications of the decision in the Japanese Whaling case on 7 May 2008.

Guest speaker was Dr Chris McGrath, Barrister in the Japanese Whaling Case.
