SUMMARY:The OECD Guidelines and Environmentally Responsible Business Conduct
DESCRIPTION:What does environmentally responsible business conduct look like? \nCan businesses be held accountable to address the environmental impacts of their activities? \nThe OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (OECD Guidelines) are internationally agreed standards for responsible business conduct\, which address environmental impacts as well as human rights\, labour relations\, consumer interests and other areas. SUMMARY:Construction and Demolition Products: Challenges and Opportunities in Western Australia
DESCRIPTION:There is a strong appetite for increasing the recovery of materials and decreasing waste in Western Australia. Recently the State Government has: \n\nrun a large program for the receipt of public submissions on the papers ‘Closing the Loop: Waste reforms for a circular economy’ and ‘Review of the waste levy – consultation paper;’\nplanned to introduce the Container Deposit Scheme in October 2020; and\npublished the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030 which outlines the aim to increase the recovery of material in the C&D Sector to 80% by 2030.\n\nWith this in mind\, the Construction & Demolition industry\, a sector which makes up around half of Western Australia’s waste stream\, is primed for innovation. \nThis seminar brings together leading specialists to present their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for the future uptake of recycled construction and demolition products in Western Australia.
