Submission to the inquiry into the destruction of 46,000-year-old caves at the Juukan Gorge in the Pilbara region of Western Australia

The National Environmental Law Association Ltd (NELA) welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the inquiry into the destruction of 46,000-year-old caves at the Juukan Gorge in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

NELA acknowledges the irreversible loss and continuing impact upon the Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura peoples that was caused by the destruction of part of their land, culture and connection to their ancestors in May 2020.
