The national peak body for advancing Australian environmental law and policy
NELA was established in 1982. Our objective is to promote the understanding of the role of environmental law in regulating and managing the conservation and usage of the environment.
Present membership includes MPs, State and Federal public servants, lawyers, engineers, local government officers, academics, librarians, town planners, environmental consultants, architects, and people from many other disciplines.
Corporate members are displayed on NELA’s website and have the opportunity to sponsor NELA events and conferences.

NELA is dedicated to promoting an environmental of inclusivity. Each volunteer will be a key member of their respective Portfolio Subcommittees and gain valuable experience and exposure in Australia's premier organisation focused on advancing environmental law.
