NELA was pleased to contribute to the Senate Inquiry into the Safeguard Mechanism (Crediting) Amendment Bill 2022. NELA supports the redrafting of the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 (Cth) to better reflect Australia's national and international greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets but submits that the reform should go further to provide more certainty and accountability.
