2021 Mahla Pearlman Oration

The Legal Practice Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Environment and Planning Law Association of New South Wales will co-host the 9th Mahla Pearlman Oration on 10 August 2021 via livestream. The event can be watched in Perth at the Law Society of Western Australia (Level 5, 160 St Georges Terrace, Perth).

The 2021 Oration will be delivered by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC, QC. The Oration will also include the presentation of the Mahla Pearlman Australian Young Environmental Lawyer of the year award for 2021.

The Mahla Pearlman Oration and award, honour the memory of the late Honourable Mahla Pearlman AO, the former Chief Judge of the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales (1992-2003), and former President of the Law Council of Australia (1989-90).

The annual event is a tribute to Chief Judge Pearlman’s achievements and an inspiration to younger generations of environmental lawyers.
